We must recite the prayer bOn Fridays, Muslims are encouraged to observe certain etiquettes to reap the benefits of this blessed day. These include performing a Friday bath (ghusl) before going to the mosque, wearing clean and tidy clothing, and using a moderate amount of perfume. Reciting Surah Al-Kahf is also highly recommended throughout Fridays, as is increasing the number of prayers to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). When preparing for Friday prayers, it is recommended to arrive early to prepare properly and gain greater rewards. Upon arriving at the mosque, one should avoid disturbing other worshippers, such as stepping over others’ shoulders to find a place. When the sermon begins, Muslims are required to remain silent and listen devoutly without speaking. Furthermore, Fridays also offer a time for answered prayer, especially between Asr and Maghrib, so it is recommended to increase prayer, remembrance of Allah (dhikr), and istighfar (ask for forgiveness). All of these etiquettes are performed to honor Friday and draw closer to Allah SWT.ecause:

🕌 Command from Allah SWT
In the Quran, Allah commands Muslims to perform prayers. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also taught the way and recitation of prayer in detail — so the recitation is not arbitrary, but direct guidance from the Prophet that must be followed.

📖 Meaning and prayer in reciting prayers
Each recitation has a deep meaning. For example:

“Al-Fatihah” contains praise and prayer to Allah.

“Subhana rabbiyal a‘la” means we glorify Allah the Most High.

“Rabbighfir li” means we ask for forgiveness.
So the recitation is not just words, but an expression of the heart to Allah.

💖 Increases devotion and relationship with Allah
When reciting with understanding the meaning, our hearts become closer to Allah. Prayer also feels calmer and more meaningful.
